The trouble with Smoothies

Smoothies provide a quick and nutritious start to your morning or are delightful as a snack. It may look simple, but it is important to measure ingredients and adjust to the taste you prefer. Remember when you had that delicious green smoothie that you try to recreate? You guessed at the ratios of ingredients and were disappointed. Have you ever added a few handfulls of kale or spinach, some ginger, a frozen banana and Milk or or ice without measuring? Chances are the smoothy is not sweet enough and may taste awful.

Once you get used to making smoothies and have an sense of the ratios needed, you can substitute and create your own. My advice would be to follow the recipes to start so that you enjoy the food you create. Food is an experience to be enjoyed. DIabetics need to be mindful of the number of carbohydrates and refined sugars in their diet that can create blood sugar spikes.
