Hi, I’m Ann Carroll.
I’m a certified family nurse practitioner, educator, and advanced diabetes consultant with insulin pump and glucose monitoring certifications. I have worked in the academic medical community of Boston for decades. My experience is extensive in primary care and pediatrics. Most recently, I lead a Pediatric Complex Care program at a Boston pediatric academic medical center.
MY STORY
Several years ago, I developed Type One Diabetes. At this time, I was frustrated and feeling like I was failing. A colleague referred me to a diabetic resource whose health educators all live with diabetes. It was a life changing experience to hear other diabetics voicing the same frustrations, lack of support and isolation that I felt. Before this interaction,I did not fully realize that I was experiencing these feelings, let alone voice them. Although I was able to connect with so many people experiencing the same issues, I discovered that there was a gap in care necessary to reduce diseases that are a result of having uncontrolled diabetes.
That is when I knew I had to create Vibrant Living to bridge the gap between primary care visits and endocrinology visits.
