Judgment and misunderstanding

Many Diabetics experience times they feel sad, alienated and misunderstood. There is a social stigma associated with Obesity and Type two diabetes. Many assume that eating balanced meals and exercise is all it takes to loose weight and express their views at times offensively. This increases feelings of shame, failure and isolation for many.

Balanced meals and excercise are most important in changing your life style, but it is not that simple.Addressing insulin resistance and the effects of access to whole foods,cortisol levels,the impact of hormones,medications and foods that increase insulin resistance make losing weight more challeging.

Positive experiences and suport through community events and support groups can lead to success. Providing education and knowledge of the newest research and technology improves confidence and understanding of Diabetes. Meeting others,trying a new activity or joining a fundraiser creates freindships and community. This can assist you in meeting you goals.
